- no planning punya…kami mengamalkan konsep ‘pasrah’ gitu hahahaa

- no way jose, Allah nak kasi rejeki kena terima alhamdulillah

- tua dah, 32 years old

- I was supposed to get my period 5 days ago tapi masa tu tak datang2 jugak, so apa lagi suruh le suami tercinta belikan pregnancy test kit tu

 

7. WHO DID YOU TELL FIRST?

- my suami was there when we did the test so I cannot remember now siapa yang kita org bagitahu dulu, perhaps my mum?

 

8. DID YOU WANT TO FIND OUT THE SEX?

- of course – both of us do not like surprises. Walau apa pun, since before pregnant my instinct selalu kata yg I akan dpt baby boy so mmg betul pun baby boy sbb nampak cik ‘net’ nya Ilyas masa scan tu hahahhahaa…doctor tu kata our baby is not shy at all to declare to the world yg dia tu baby boy sbb mmg jelas nampak benda tu melambai2 hahahhahaaa

- 3^rd July 2003

 

10. DID YOU HAVE MORNING SICKNESS?

- morning sickness yilek, tapi dapat evening sickness for 3 months

 

11. WHAT DID YOU CRAVE?

- mangga kecik2 yang masam tu, sampai termimpi2 kan pokok mangga dgn buah dia yang lebat dan hijau2 melayut2 gitu tapi tu lah kat NZ ni mana lah nak dapat buah mangga tu, so my craving for mangga was never fulfilled

- none whatsoever

- boy

- nope

- no, belum ramai kawan masa tu

- yes I  did, when I was 5 months pregnant I had kidney infection and dehydration, kena dok sepital seminggu

- Wellington Women’s Hospital

 

20. HOW MANY HOURS WERE YOU IN LABOUR?

- 14 hours

- Abah nya Ilyas le J

- my suami, my doctor, midwife and my mother-in-law hahahhaa

 

23. WAS IT NATURAL OR C-SECTION?

- alhamdulillah it was a natural birth

 

24. DID YOU TAKE MEDICINE TO EASE THE PAIN?

- yes, yes and yes…sakit wooooo beranak J

- 3.1 kg

- 3^rd July 2003 – tepat on his due date! Good boy ILYAS!

28. HOW OLD IS YOUR FIRST BORN TODAY?

- Ilyas is going to be 6 years old on 3^rd July 2009! Alhamdulillah!

Just the three of us

Ini lah kami tiga beranak J Photos were taken in December 2008.  

 

 

Girlfriend??

 

 

Ilyas: Abah, I am not with Ella and she is not my girlfriend anymore.

 

Abah: Uh? Why? What happened? Do you want me to talk to her?

 

Ilyas: No Abah! Please don’t do that.

 

Abah: So tell me what happened?

 

Ilyas: I think she does not like me anymore. Yesterday she didn’t want to play with me in the playground, she went to play with other kids.

 

Abah: Ooooohhhh…Ilyas darling, is that why you’re sad? Listen darling, the fact that she is playing with other kids and not you does not mean that she doesn’t like you anymore. She’s got other friends too and I am sure she still likes you.

 

Ilyas: Ok Abah (with a big smile).

 

I overheard this conversation between Ilyas and his Abah the other day. Dalam hati ni dok berkata-kata, eehhh anak aku ni kecik-kecik lagi dah pandai nak bergelpren, sekolah pun baru Year One, cebok berak pun belum pandai lagi dah bergelpren kunun. Tapi at the same time gelihati jugak when I heard them talking about this, it sounded as if Abah was talking to a grown up young man when he is actually belum pun 6 tahun!

Not now Ummi!

These days Ilyas’s favourite answer is “not now Ummi” – it doesn’t matter what you ask him to do, or when you ask him to do something, or why you ask him to do something, his answer will always be “not now Ummi”. This morning before I went to work I asked him to get changed (I have all his school clothings ready on his bed), brush his teeth (I also got his toothbrush ready waiting for him in the bathroom) and have breakfast (breakfast was already waiting for him on the table) just so when Abah is going to take him to school he will be all ready to go. But Ilyas being Ilyas, his answer when I asked him to do all these was “not now Ummi” and he also added a few more words to it which were “Ummi, you always want me to do things all the time, and you always want me to do them like now, now and now”. Whoaaaaaa…bila I heard this from him apa lagi my face and my telinga all become panaaaaassss gitu, and trying to control my ‘kepanasan’ I told him “ok Ilyas, kalau Ilyas tak suka Ummi cakap macam tu dengan Ilyas, lain kali kalau Ilyas mintak apa-apa dengan Ummi, mintak makan ke, mintak air ke, mintak apa-apa je lah kan, Ummi akan jawab not now Ilyas, boleh? Ok Ilyas?” As soon as he heard this from me, dengan cepatnya dia pegi basuh gigi, tukar baju, makan breakfast dan senyum-senyum balik dengan Ummi dia ni. Nak bodek lah tu. Memang bertuah betul tau anak sorang ni.

To my friends (yang baca blog ni lah kan heheee) what did or do you do or say when your child/children give you an answer like ‘not now mum, ibu, mama, mummy”???  

 

Snakes and Ladders

Do you all still remember the game snakes and ladders? I bet you do..well, as for me I am forced to remember and play this game now EVERY NIGHT! Ilyas now has this habit of ‘bagi syarat’ everytime I ask him to read with me before going to sleep at night. Syarat dia ialah lepas baca buku Ummi has to agree to play snakes and ladders with him untuk dua round. Ni kalau dia menang main dua round je lah tapi kalau dia kalah dia akan nak main game ni sampai lah dia menang! There was one night I won the game for all the four rounds and he forced me to play again and thank God he won the game in the fifth round! We keep telling him that when playing games like this it is not at all about winning or losing, it is about the fun we have and the togetherness that are important, dia angguk kepala kunun-kununnya paham la tu, tapi dia tetap nak menang jugak…siap cakap lagi ‘I can’t wait to win again Ummi’…bertuah betul anak sorang ni tau. Tapi sekarang I know how to ‘bagi syarat’ lain kat dia pulak..Ummi setuju main snakes and ladders before bed time but with one condition – everytime we play this game we have to count the numbers and speak in Malay and to my surprise dia agree pulak tu!  Hehehhee…punya lah bersemangat kan, apa syarat pun dia terima je but so far so good, his counting in Malay dah tak pelat omputih sangat lagi dah…berkat mengira masa main snakes and ladders! Hahaha…

 

 

Mr. Diplomacy and Mr. Caterpillar

When asked if Ilyas is ‘anak Ummi’ or ‘anak Abah’ – his answer will always be ‘I am anak Ummi and anak Abah, Ummi and Abah are my parents, and I love you Ummi and Abah’…paksa lah dan umpan lah macamana pun dia akan tetap jawab macam ni punya hehee…bertuah punya anak. The other day he brought home his home learning book from school, he was asked to draw a ‘friendship web’ and in the web there were Ummi, Abah and Mr. Caterpillar. Bila ditanya siapa Mr. Caterpillar tu, dia jawab ‘he is my friend, sometimes I talk to him whenever I feel happy or sad’. Then I asked him again ‘mana dia?’. His reply was ‘he is everywhere, he follows me wherever I go’. Hmmm…betul ke tak ni? I thought about this and maybe he is telling the truth, and knowing my own son dia memang dari dulu pun suka borak sorang-sorang.  

 

Malaysia new PM

As we all know now Najib is the new PM for Malaysia. What do you all think of him? OK? KO? Hehhee…whatever it is, let us hope for the best. As for me, I grew up in Mahathir’s era and I have seen lots of good things happened in the country during his time (some people may not agree with me but that does not matter here) and I personally admire him. As a Malaysian living far far away home I can only dengar and baca about my beloved country, so far lots of porak peranda stories that I have heard and read. Lets hope that with the new PM I will hear more of cerita yang sedap di dengar dek telinga ini.
